Resident Evil 4

Platforms: Gamecube, Playstation 2, PC, Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3

Average Playthrough Time: ~20 hours

North American Release Date: January 11, 2005

Genre: Survival Horror

Summary: Oh no! The president's daughter has been kidnapped! What's the only logical solution? Send a guy with a handgun and a can of herbs to go and find her. You play as Leon S. Kennedy, a top-grade agent who works for the president. He gets sent to a village in Spain to go find Ashley Graham, the president's daughter. There, the locals have turned hostile, thanks to a virus. Leon has to go through ferocious dogs, giants, giant invisible insects, burlap sack men with chainsaws, etc. He does get some aid throughout the story, but not everyone is with him. Resident Evil 4 is a great game to be played even after the main story-which gives you extra characters to play as.
My Experience: The first time I got this game, I didn't play it. Instead, my brother did and I was shivering watching him play- not because I was scared, but because of all the excitement. There would be things trying to kill you left and right, there were also too many close calls, where an enemy would attack you right after you heal yourself. What I love most about this game is the variety of enemies and trying to figure out what would be the easiest way to defeat them. The controls take some time to get used to and there will be times where you will lack ammunition, but you'll have to make the best of it-this is what survival horror is about. Resident Evil 4 gets a 8.6/10.
